Overview

Climate Intelligence Brief is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

The short version: We use cookie-free analytics to understand traffic patterns. We do not track you across sites, sell your data, or use advertising cookies.

Data We Collect

Analytics (Cookie-Free)

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics platform, to understand how our site is used. Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. The data collected includes:

  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referral source (where you came from)
  • Browser type and screen size
  • Country (derived from IP, which is not stored)

This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual visitors.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, request timestamps, and user agent strings. These are retained per Cloudflare's data retention policies and are not accessible to us in identifiable form.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • No cookies (first-party or third-party)
  • No tracking pixels or fingerprinting
  • No personal information (name, email, etc.) unless you contact us
  • No advertising data or ad tracking
  • No cross-site tracking

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations, you have the right to:

  • Know what data we collect (this policy covers it — we collect very little)
  • Request deletion of any data we hold about you
  • Opt out of analytics (use any ad blocker or browser privacy feature)

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
