Delhi's 6M-Vehicle EV Push Targets Transport's 50% Smog Share
Delhi is phasing out new fossil-fuel rickshaws from January 2027 and two-wheelers from April 2028 to cut transport emissions that ICCT says account for a third to half of the city's hazardous air pollution. The policy targets over 6 million vehicles but faces affordability and infrastructure hurdles for drivers earning a few hundred rupees a day.
